Alien, here. This one is for my girls at Tales and Tails. Happy ninth birthday, Blueberry.
Normally Sallie does the romance reviews. But I confess I was intrigued by the story of Miss Percy Parker, a young woman who always felt different, like an outsider, because of the way she looked. The author, Leanna Renee Hieber, weaves a wonderful tale that is reminiscent of the way Professor Alexi describes Percy's hair: Like Shimmering spider silk. Kindly visit Leanna Renee Hieber's webpage and blog to learn more about the author and the other books in the series.
Here is an excerpt from the back of the book:
"What fortune awaited sweet, timid Percy Parker at Athens Academy? Hidden in the dark heart of Victorian London, the Romanesque school was dreadfully imposing, a veritable fortress, and little could Percy guess what lay inside. She had never met its powerful and mysterious Professor Alexi Rychman, knew nothing of the growing shadows, of the Ripper and other supernatural terrors against which his coterie stood guard. She saw simply that she was different, haunted, with her snow white hair, pearlescent skin and uncanny gift. This arched stone doorway was a portal to a new life, to an education far from what could be had at a convent--and it was an invitation to an intimate yet dangerous dance at the threshold of life and death..."

I wonder if my wives read those kind of books? They are really romantical.
Squeeeeee! Oof! Good gracious! Blueberry just conked me over the head with her splint to get to the keyboard, but then couldn't type because of the very same splint! Alien, I'm going to be seeing stars after that one.
We can't wait to see the prequel that's coming out in May for that book! Mom says that's one of the next ones she's looking forward to now that she's read the end of the Fever series.
Oh, Alien, Blueberry and I have some of Mom's medicine from the doctor. We're slipping Morgan some of Mom's Tylenol with Codiene in it, so if you fly by tonight and can help Blue and her splint out the window, she'll be waiting for you!
Bunny
What a fabulous way to honour Blue's birfday!
Wheres your smoking jacket?
Puddles
Looks like something to read snuggled in bed on a cold wet day.

Geez, this excerpt certainly peaked my interest. I will definitely check out her website. Did you decide on a bride yet? I say, take your time, play the field, you can't rush love.
Your pal, Pip
I've found my true readership at last! :)
Selling foreign rights to other planets is very thrilling!
Alien, you're such a dear soul, I just know that you and Miss Percy would be fast friends. You two understand what it's like to live in a world where you're far from the average human, but your kindness always wins the day.
Blessings and thanks for the highlight! Miss Percy and I are exceedingly honoured!
I'm checking it out right away, thanks!
Oooo! That book sounds like a gripper!
